INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE (IL)

Intermediate League is for players who are aged between 11 and 13 by the 31st August 2021.

PRE-SEASON TRAINING TBA.  After this date training will be at our home grounds at Lakelands Oval.

In season training TBA, weekday afternoons from 4:30pm till 6pm at Lakelands Oval.

Intermediate League is a transition for Little League players to Junior League games of baseball with the following differences:

  • The game is played on a 70ft diamond (not 90ft like seniors)
  • Pitching distance is 50ft (not 60ft like seniors)
  • Runners can lead off bases and may attempt to steal at any time
  • An ondeck batter is permitted
  • There are still restrictions on the number of pitches a Pitcher can throw in any one game and is still age dependent.

Saturday IL baseball is still about fun, fair play and enabling all players to have the opportunity to play in every position on the field.

All IL divisions are played on a Saturday afternoon at 12.30pm. PDS play Intermediate League in a Southern League with Rockingham and as far as WIlletton so games will either be home at Lakelands Oval or away depending on fixtures and teams in the competition.  **Details of the teams included in the Southern League will be available shortly.**

In order that we can give our Little League aged players the oppurtunity for extended playing time and game time with Junior League conditions.  IL is a very important transition for our experienced LL players and players who are new to baseball so they may become familiar with the changing rules and playing conditions before they jump straight into JL80s, which is essentially U15s.

The more competitive and skilled players can try out for the Intermediate League State Championships with our Coastal Bay Shark Baseball Charter.
