MACHINE PITCH - An Exciting Way To Transition from Teeball To Baseball

Machine Pitch – is the bridge between Teeball and Little League Baseball.  It allows the kids to become comfortable with a moving, pitched ball.

The machine is placed on the pitching mound and a coach or parent stands behind the machine which delivers a slow but consistent pitch into the strike zone.

This helps to build confidence and increases “muscle memory” from the ability to hit the ball more often.

Like Teeball, the game can be modified to suit the skill level of the players.  For example if the player cannot hit the ball after say 4 attempts then the ball can be softly tossed up from the side to allow them to hit the ball.

Machine Pitch is available from ages 7 to 10 and is played on a Friday afternoon at Lakelands.  This year to encourage our Tee ballers to participate in Machine Pitch so they can increase their skills, PDS is offering FREE Machine Pitch for Teeballers who have never played Machine Pitch or Little League before.  We are hoping that this will entice our younger players to come and experience the next level of the game whilst still in a fun and learning environment.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this introductory level of baseball to learn aspects of coaching, scoring, umpiring and the rules of baseball.

Costs for the 2018-2019 season:    $110 for Machine Pitch only.

However if a Teeball player, aged 7-10, wants to play first year Machine Pitch, then costs are = $100 for teeball and $0 for MP.

How the machine works
